All four of these anaeathetists are specialists in the field of paediatric spinal surgery and regularly anaesthetise for the surgeons of Midland Scoliosis Service in both the NHS and private sectors.

Neurosurgeons: Mr Andre Jackowski, Mr Andrew Kay, Mr Guresh Solanki
Operating on the spine occasionally requires the expertise of a neurosurgeon for both the spinal cord and brain and also for cervical spine (neck) problems. The surgeons of Midland Scoliosis Service have strong links to neurosurgeons at both The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital and Birmingham Children’s Hospital. All of these Neurosurgeons have special interests in the spine.

Radiologists: Dr Nick Evans, Dr Steve James, Dr Mark Davies
Radiologists are experts in using X rays, MRI and CT scans to identify problems and assist the surgeon in managing the care of the patient. Drs Evans, James and Davies are renowned musculoskeletal radiology experts at The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital who regularly are part of the care of patients of Midland Scoliosis Service surgeons in both the NHS and private sectors. These radiologists are found as Midland Musculoskeletal Imaging.

Neurophysiology
Neurophysiology is the study of nerve and spinal cord function and includes spinal cord monitoring. This is an important part of the treatment of spinal deformity and is provided under the auspices of Dr Marion Lazaro at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital and administered by her staff.

Paediatricians
Paediatricians are doctors who specialise in the medical care of children. Midland Scoliosis Service has close working relationships with Dr Geoff Debelle and Dr Tony Sunderland who both hold NHS contracts between The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital and Birmingham Children’s Hospital.
