Training This practice within the NHS is at the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital, Birmingham. He underwent radiology training on the West Midlands Rotation. During his training, he was awarded the prestigious ESOR-scholarship by the European Society of Radiology to undergo subspecialty training in musculoskeletal imaging at the University Hospital in Munich, Germany..

Following the completion of his training, Dr Douis underwent musculoskeletal fellowship training at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, Stanmore where he gained furtherexpertise in musculoskeletal imaging and musculoskeletal intervention.

He has developed in-depth expertise in the imaging of orthopaedic and spinal conditions including the imaging of scoliosis. Dr Douis uses the most advanced imaging techniques to diagnose spinal conditions including scoliosis. He also has a strong interest in spinal intervention which includes the use of image-guided spinal intervention.

Dr Douis has published more than 30 articles in the field of musculoskeletal and spinal imaging. He has authored and co-authored 10 book chapters. He continues to lead research on imaging of the spine. Dr Douis lectures both nationally and internationally on musculoskeletal and spinal imaging.
