Matthew Newton Ede is a spinal surgeon operating at The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital and Birmingham Children's Hospital. Qualifying in 2002, he undertook specialist training in Royal Manchester Children's Hospital, Salford Royal Hospital, Royal Liverpool Children's Hospital, Alder Hey and Robert Jones Agnes Hunt Hospital, Oswestry.
As part of a team of five spinal surgeons specialising in spinal deformity surgery, Mr Newton Ede consults and operates on a wide range of spinal problems in adults and children including surgery of the neck.
Mr Newton Ede's particular interest is in children's spinal deformity surgery. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons, England, and a member of the British Orthopaedic Association, AO Spine, the British Association of Spinal Surgeons and the British Scoliosis Society.
